Decision Academic, the industry’s leading curriculum management and academic advising company, today announced that the University of Ottawa, an elite Canadian university, has selected Decision Academic’s Curriculum Manager product to manage their curriculum change and approval requirements. The University of Ottawa marks the first customer to be supported by Decision Academic’s Navigator Suite, which integrates their Degree Navigator, Transfer Navigator, Catalog Manager, Registration and Curriculum Manager products.
With over 36,000 full and part-time students, a staff of 3,000 and a strong focus on the graduation success of its students, the University of Ottawa’s mission is to provide students with the opportunity to study, live and play in a bilingual (English and French) environment.
“Decision Academic was able to offer not only powerful stand-alone products that achieved our objectives, they are also able to provide integration across their entire suite of products and our student information system.” said Michel Biagé, Assistant Director – Student IT Services, University of Ottawa. “Curriculum Manager will increase efficiency by automating a very manual and labour intensive process that is prone to human error, providing a simple single interface that will increase consistency in the information required to submit a request. It will allow us to quickly
adapt our curriculum to student and market demand and dramatically increase the efficiency and visibility of the curriculum creation, change and approval process across the university. It will also provide smooth integration between our curriculum management system and the SIS and online registration tool, Rabaska. These capabilities will enable us to deliver student value and give us a competitive edge.”
“This is a strategic step forward in our business development plan. The University of Ottawa has been a loyal customer since the inception of our company and we are thrilled with this continued opportunity to work with them.” said Barry Sexton, President and CEO, Decision Academic. “Through this innovative joint development agreement, with the University, we have crafted an industry leading solution for a latent weakness in a core Higher Education business process. By managing and capturing curriculum content at its inception, we are optimally
positioned to deliver this critical data to both our integrated product set and other third party products that rely on accurate, consistent course and program information.”
